About Institutional Repositories
Digital Commons serves as an institutional repository to collect and present Providence's research and other scholarly activity in one convenient, easily navigable location. Digital Commons aims to activate the voice of Providence and share our research accomplishments as a world-class research organization.
Articles are searchable and organized by Clinical Institutes and Departments and include links to available full-text. In addition to peer-reviewed publications, Digital Commons hosts conference abstracts, book/chapter citations, and other multimedia. Digital Commons is a wonderful way to disseminate non-indexed research and Digital Commons items are search engine optimized, to help you and your work appear at the top of Google searches. It also incorporates PlumX analytics to show altmetrics for citations, social media mentions, news mentions, and more. Digital Commons also features the Providence Experts, powered by Elsevier Pure, where we can showcase Providence individual researchers’ selected works.
The repository is a service of Providence System Library Services. Research and scholarly output included here has been selected and deposited by the System Library Services, the individual departments, and institutes.
Institutional Repositories (IRs) bring together all of an organization's research under one umbrella, with an aim to preserve and provide access to that research. IRs are an excellent vehicle for working papers or copies of published articles and conference papers. Presentations, poster, and other works not published elsewhere can also be published in the IR.
Digital Commons is presented through the BePress platform. To learn more about Institutional Repositories, please visit the BePress IR research page.
