Abstract

With a growing body of research that highlights the relationship between relaxation and healing, healthcare centers are more cautious than ever to renovate and rebuild while ensuring minimal patient disruption. Unfortunately, necessary construction can still leave many patients dissatisfied, which is why when Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (PSVMC) decided to rebuild an occupied 482-bed patient tower, leadership took time to implement change management strategies and develop thoughtful construction interventions to mitigate patient disruption. Learn about PSVMC’s unique approach to an all-at-once construction methodology and open communication that led to an increase in patient satisfaction during a 27-month construction project.
