Abstract

On a day that thousands of Yalies were scheduled to gather all over the world for the 12th Yale DAY of Service, the concept of gathering has changed dramatically. However, the need for community building and local support are in higher demand than ever. Fellow alumni discussed the ways in which alumni groups can form and maintain relationships with local partners, and heard from one group that did just that during remarkable circumstances in the COVID 19 crisis.

Speakers included: Andrew Burgie ’87, the hazardous materials training coordinator at New York University School of Global Public Health; Liam Elkind ’21 & Simone Policano ’16, Co-Founders of Invisible Hands; and Alison Gardy ’88, Founder of Gardy Communication strategies. This webinar was moderated by Xiaoyan Huang ’91, MD, MHCM, FACC, who is a member of the Yale Alumni Board of Governors and is a cardiologist and Medical Director of General Cardiology at Providence Heart Clinic in Portland, OR.
