Abstract
The Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation & Commercialization Officer for Advocate Health and the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Digital Officer for Providence discuss how existing health care organizations can avoid being disrupted. They cover existential threats to the industry, the many forms of disruption and how they interact with each other, the challenges and opportunities these create for health care providers, and the importance of thinking in a non–health care way, curating intentional partnerships particularly outside the traditional sphere of health care, and building rather than falling into the temptation to cut during times of financial and workplace crisis.
