Abstract
Qualitative, quantitative, administrative, survey, GIS, primary and secondary… there are many ways to classify data! In a recent webinar, CORE partners convened to explore the varied world of secondary data sources and addressed key questions such as:
- What is the difference between primary data and secondary or public data
- What are key factors to consider in determining whether a website is a reputable source?
Secondary data sources can provide vital pieces of information to supplement what an organization collects through provision of services. Community-based organizations can learn about their area’s health outcomes, demographics and social determinants of health needs by accessing reputable secondary data sources. In this webinar, CORE’s team of data experts shared some of our favorite sources of publicly available data, and demonstrated how to build reports with American Community Survey data.
