Abstract

•Mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair requires preprocedure echocardiography.•In certain circumstances, timeliness of transesophageal echos can be a limitation.•Using transthoracic echo results, heart teams may decide to proceed with repair.•Safety, procedural, and valve outcomes are not compromised for these patients.
